What Sets Us Apart
Our Dynamic & Holistic Approach
At Zea Psychiatry, we understand that mental health is complex. That's why our experts distill it into essential components of the biopsychosocial model developed by Dr. George Engel, MD. The biopsychosocial model recognizes that both illness and health is the consequence of the dynamic interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors. This holistic framework and our highly individualized approach allows us to customize your treatment plan and address the root causes of your distress.
Biological factors include physical health, genetic factors, neurochemistry, physiology, stress response, and immune function.
Psychological factors include thoughts, emotions, behaviors, self-esteem, attitudes, beliefs, coping mechanisms, social skills, personality, and trauma.
Social factors include environmental impacts, family systems, relationship dynamics, social identities, cultural affiliations, educational background, support systems, and systems of privilege and oppression.
